No matter what time of year it is, there is always something exciting going on in Manhattan Beach. In the fall, there is the Hometown Fair and the Pumpkin Race celebrating Halloween. In the winter, the city marks the beginning of the holiday season with its annual Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House. There is also the yearly Manhattan Beach 10k run, which has been a local tradition since 1978. Residents can also enjoy a picnic or some tennis at Live Oak Park or visit The Strand for an oceanfront walk with sunset views.
